More senior love… Senior photo session, Olympia, WA

My husband coached a premier soccer team of the most adorable group of girls a few years back. It was the first time he coached girls and I remember telling him he would have to adjust from the boys mentality. Girls need more time to connect–with one another and with you. They need to feel that they are a valued member of the team. Let them have 5-10 minutes at the start of practice to stretch, catch up and build those personal relationships with one another. I remember him coming home from practice incredulous at the amount of time they would talk! A great group of girls who formed long lasting friendships. Here’s another fab soccer girl, Meegan. I can’t believe how lovely these girls have become…

Alley Love, Engagement Session, Olympia, WA

I love alleys. There is something a bit clandestine, maybe secretive, and very private. The alleys of downtown Olympia have their own personalities–some are urban and edgy, others have an old world feel, but all of them make for perfect photo scenarios. Emily and Austin were perfectly happy to wind through the alleys, tucking in and out, and stealing a kiss or two along the way. Soon, they will be heading to the sunny land of Cali as Austin pursues his dream of flight. These two smarties–one an engineer the other a psyche major have the world opening up to them. So sweet to see lovely couples in love forging new lives together. Good luck you two!

Downtown Olympia Alleys Aren’t Scary…

Although I wouldn’t suggest wandering in any alley alone at night… especially in the fall, spider time. Bleh…

It’s amazing to me how many of my high school senior clients haven’t explored Olympia’s alleys. There are some really great spaces down here. I hope the City of Olympia is able to utilize them better–as pedestrian walkways, cafes, etc. In the meantime, I will intrepidly traverse, clients in tow, seeking out the perfect photographic background. I mean it’s seriously working…
